MIDDLE COLENSO FARM
& THE BELL TOWER
Self-catering accommodation in West Cornwall

About Middle Colenso Farm
Middle Colenso is ideally placed for exploring the South West of Cornwall and beyond. It enjoys a secluded, rural location half way between Penzance and Helston and just a few minutes drive from Prussia Cove, Marazion and the south coast.
The farm consists of the main farmhouse and three holiday cottages. There has been a farm on the site since Elizabethan times although the current buildings date back to the18th century.
Since moving here in 2013 we have undertaken an extensive programme of renovation. The cottages are decorated in a modern rustic style similar to our own house, which has been featured in several interiors magazines.
Expect to find classic midcentury and Scandinavian furniture and natural materials such as reclaimed wood, slate and linen. All three cottages have wood burning stoves, making them a cosy choice in the cooler months.

The Old Granary
The Old Granary has reverse level accommodation with three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the ground floor. Upstairs, the spacious open-plan living area includes a kitchen, dining room and living area with wood burning stove.
There is a fully-enclosed private garden to the rear of the property with a gazebo, built-in barbecue and outdoor dining furniture.
Dogs are welcome.
Carter's Croft
Carter’s Croft is an18th century granite cottage, completely renovated using traditional lime building techniques. There is an open plan living and dining area with a wood burning stove downstairs. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a bathroom.
There is also a Mediterranean style courtyard with barbecue, outdoor dining table and teak sun loungers.

Smugglers Lane
Smugglers Lane has a large living/dining area with woodburning stove. There is a separate galley kitchen and a utility room. The bedroom has an en suite shower.
There is a private outdoor space with a barbecue, outdoor furniture and Corten steel firebowl.
Dogs are welcome.
Outdoors
The cottages are set in typically Cornish gardens, with exotic plants including gunnera, banana trees, palms and tree ferns.
As well as their own private garden, guests also have access to a communal boules court and gazebo.
There is an outdoor shower (cold water only) which is perfect for wetsuits and muddy dogs.
There is plenty of on-site parking.

What people say
Middle Colenso Farm is a beautifully secluded spot nestling in the Cornish countryside and within a few minutes of the stunning coastline.
We loved our cosy cottage which was smart and sympathetic, full of rustic charm and super comfortable. It provided the ideal base to head out into the Cornish weather and enjoy a warm return by the fire.
The gardens are stunning and the owners have clearly poured their passion into creating a really wonderful landscape to wrap the buildings within. It works wonderfully well and you could easily lose an afternoon reading a book in the gently private spots set amongst the olive trees and eucalyptus.
And there is well stocked gym sensitively placed amongst the planting with the chance to have your pilates or gym session. Essential to remove the guilt after the unavoidable indulgence in one of the many great pubs and restaurants which fill this area. Porthleven is only 15 minutes away with Penzance and Marazion even closer.
It is a great spot and I am already planning my next trip.

What can we say? Your cottage was amazing! Everything we needed (and things we didn't know we needed) were here. The finish to the decoration is so high and the quality is wonderful. We have had a lovely break. thank you.
We have now had the privilege of staying in all of your properties in all seasons and each are unique in their own, quirky way. Looking forward to our next visit.

Thank you for a fantastic week! The Old Granary is a welcoming and lovely place to stay. We've had a great time: surfing in Sennen, bodyboarding at Gwithian, sea kayaking at Marazion with beautiful views of the Mount. Wish we were here for another week. Thank you once again (loved the cream tea to greet us!).
